The Murph Logo

The Murph is a synth funk musician from Detroit. His music and image are deeply inspired by the 1980s.

He hired me to design his logo and I came up with this gold chrome custom wordmark.

I chose to modify an era-appropriate super heavy geometric sans-serif font for his custom wordmark. 

Combining the letters U and R contracted the name for maximum impact. Descenders on the M and R were extended to create emphatic underlines.

The first logo here is the finished product, followed by merchandise mockups showing the logo in use. The rest are rejected concepts.
